Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-02-11
I ask for full payment before I start. That puts the risk on you, so this policy is written to put it back where it belongs. Read it before you pay — it is short and there is nothing hidden in it.
Before I start work: full refund
Changed your mind? Tell me before I have started and you get 100% back, no questions and no explanation needed.
In practice that means within 48 hours of paying, or any time before I send you the first piece of work — whichever comes later. If I have not opened your project yet, your money is not mine.
After I start, before the first delivery: 50% refund
Once I am working, my time is genuinely spent. If you cancel after I have started but before I have sent you the first concepts or the first working version, you get 50% back.
After the first delivery
Once I have sent you the first concepts, the first designs or the first working build, the work is done and there is no refund from that point.
What you do get: everything I have produced so far is yours to keep, in the formats I have it, along with any usage rights we agreed. You are not paying for nothing — you are paying for the work that exists.
If I am the one who cannot finish
If I cancel, disappear, or cannot deliver what I promised for any reason of my own — illness, overcommitment, anything — you get a full refund of everything not yet delivered, and you keep whatever I have already sent you.
This has no time limit and no conditions. If I let you down, you are not out of pocket for it.
If I am significantly late through my own fault
If I miss the agreed delivery date by more than 14 days and the delay is mine — not waiting on your content, your feedback or your approvals — you can cancel and get a refund of the part that has not been delivered.
Photography
- Cancel more than 48 hours before the shoot: full refund
- Cancel within 48 hours, or nobody is there on the day: the session fee is not refundable, because that day is gone
- Weather makes an outdoor shoot impossible: we reschedule at no cost. That is not a cancellation
- After the shoot has happened: no refund. Editing and delivery are what remains and I will complete them
What is not a reason for a refund
I would rather be honest about this than surprise you later.
- You approved a direction and then changed your mind about it. That is what the three revision rounds are for, and extra rounds can be quoted
- You stopped replying. If I cannot reach you for 30 days after asking for feedback, I finish on my best judgement, deliver, and close the project
- The work is finished and matches what we wrote in the brief, but you have decided you no longer want it
- Something outside the agreed scope is missing. If it was not in the brief, it was not in the price — but tell me and I will quote for it
- Third-party costs I paid on your behalf — hosting, domains, fonts, stock images, app store fees. Those are gone once they are spent
How to ask for a refund
Email [email protected] with your project name and one line on what happened. You do not need to justify yourself.
I will reply within 3 working days. Approved refunds go back to the card or account you paid from within 10 working days — the payment provider's timing, not mine, is usually what decides how fast you see it.
Before you open a dispute with your bank
Please email me first. Every refund I have ever owed I have paid, and a chargeback costs us both time and fees for something a message would have settled. If you have paid and cannot reach me, you are of course entitled to use your bank — but give me the chance first.
Partial work, partial refunds
If we split a bigger project into phases and paid phase by phase, this policy applies to each phase on its own. Finishing phase one does not lock you into phase two.
